How To Do A Spiritual Examine of 2022

2 Examine me, LORD, and put me to the test; Refine my mind and my heart. [Psa 26:2 NASB20]

40 Let's examine and search out our ways, And let's return to the LORD.

 [Lam 3:40 NASB20]

28 But a person must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. [1Co 11:28 NASB20]

5 Test yourselves [to see] if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize [this about] yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test? [2Co 13:5 NASB20]

4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have [reason for] boasting, [but] to himself alone, and not to another. [Gal 6:4 NASB20]

First Examine the Good:   The good is anything that you did good for another person, another person did good for you, an event God allowed that was a moment of joy, peace, success, or godly pleasure.

Respond to the Good with Rejoicing

Next Examine the Bad:   This is any event that was hurtful, disturbing, difficult, disappointing, hard, or a loss.   This is also where another person failed to love and respect you.   Anything that was a problem is listed here.

Respond to the Bad with Release:  Cast all these cares, hurts, pains, wounds, and disappointments on the Lord because HE cares for YOU with an eternal and unchanging love.   Give to HIM your burdens in prayer and ask HIM to carry them.

Next Examine the Ugly:   This is where you sinned against God and others.   What words, actions, and attitudes failed to show love and respect?

Respond to the Ugly with Repentance:   Confess and repent of the things you did wrong.  Accept forgiveness from God based on the blood of Christ being shed for your sins and ask God to give you a hatred for the sins you committed.

End your time with worship of the Lord in song
