Understanding Myself and Others

  1. I am wonderful – You are wonderful

[Psa 139:14 NASB95] 14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

2.        I am wicked – You are wicked

[Rom 3:10-12, 23 NASB95] 10 as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; 11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; 12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." ... 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

3.        I am wounded – You are wounded

[Psa 109:21-22 NASB95] 21 But You, O GOD, the Lord, deal [kindly] with me for Your name's sake; Because Your lovingkindness is good, deliver me; 22 For I am afflicted and needy, And my heart is wounded within me.

4.        I am weak – You are weak

[Psa 82:3-4 NASB95] 3 Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver [them] out of the hand of the wicked.

[Mat 9:12 NASB95] 12 But when Jesus heard [this,] He said, "[It is] not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.

5.        I am washed – You are washed

"(18) "Come, let us settle this," says the LORD. "Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are crimson red, they will be like wool. " {Isaiah 1:18 CSB}

"(14) Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise. " {Jeremiah 17:14 CSB}

6.        I am welcomed – You are welcomed

[Rom 15:7 NASB95] 7 Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.

7.        I am wild – You are wild

[Jdg 17:6 NASB95] 6 In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.

[Act 2:44-47 NASB95] 44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; 45 and they [began] selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

[Jhn 13:34 NASB95] 34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

We must love people as wonderful, wicked, wounded, weak, washed, welcomed, and wild.  Even as God loves us in all these complex aspects of our lives.
