 SCENE 8

Transcription

I went away from my disciples so that I could speak with My Father alone.  I know my time is near.  How I wish there was another way.  I even called out to My Father and said, “If it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.”  But I realized if there was any other way, he would have already spared me.  It’s all about making a way for His children.  And this Is  the only way.

In the beginning, sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, separating them from God and all who came after. Then Abraham had to offer his “one and only son”, Isaac as a sacrifice. Now my Father is doing the same thing with me; preparing to sacrifice His son as the final and ultimate sacrifice.

The blood of the Passover Lamb will cover the doorposts of Israel’s houses. Yet it is only a foreshadow of what is yet to come. In a better, more permanent plan, My blood will cover the doorposts of their hearts. It will cover their sin and offer complete reconciliation, fellowship, and intimacy with His  children.

Abba, My prayer tonight is for those that believe in You and the truths You sent me to share.  I am praying for them.

“Holy Father, they have heard the truth and they believe that I came from you and that you sent me.  I am praying for these that you have given to me.  Protect them in this life so that they may be one just as we are one, and so that they may experience my joy.  I’m not asking that you take them out of this world that hates them so, but that you would guard them from the Evil One.  They do not belong to the world and are not defined by the world any more than I am. Set them apart by Your truth, for Your word is truth.  In the same way that you gave me a mission in this world, I will also give them a mission. I am praying not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their testimony.  My desire is for all of them to become of one heart and mind. Just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you; may they be of one heart and mind with us.  Then the world might believe that You, in fact, sent me.  My Father, the glory You gave me, I have given to them, so they’ll be as unified and together as we are.  Give the godless world evidence that you’ve sent me.  You love them in the same way You’ve loved me.

NARRATOR (REFLECTION)

Here we see Jesus truly wrestling and struggling. He is carrying the weight of our sin and the burden is so great that he sweats great drops of blood.  and yet in the midst of this struggle he says, Not my will but your will be done.

Have you ever come to a point that the will of God seems so hard that it will kill you? Have you ever felt that you have to escape from what God is wanting you to do? If you have, then Jesus does understand. He has been there in the garden, but he would recommend that you echo his prayer at such desperate times. At the end of the struggle surrender and say, Not my will but your will be done.”
